The Health Sciences Library of New York Medical College seeks a Content Management Librarian.  New York Medical College, a member of the Touro College and University System, is located in Valhalla, in beautiful Westchester County, New York, 450 square-miles of diverse living, with tiny river towns, suburban villages and urban centers. Content Management Librarian
Purpose:         Performs duties and responsibilities related to the selection and purchase of library materials in all formats at the Health Sciences Library (HSL) of New York Medical College (NYMC).  Works closely with the director, administrator, associate director, vendors, and colleagues!
Detailed Responsibilities:
Ø  Purchases collections and titles for the Health Sciences Library;
Ø  Manages the acquisitions/serials ledger module of the Ex Libris Voyager system including budgeting and expenditures for all collection types and locations;
Ø  Communicates externally at all levels with relevant vendors, obtaining price quotes and licensing;
Ø  Communicates internally regularly with faculty, employees and students to ensure necessary input relating to collection needs and strengths;
Ø  Coordinates trials and purchasing of new or current products, including access resolution for system problems;
Ø  Analyzes and reviews subject needs of the collection and monitors collection usage statistics;
Ø  Assists with the management of the resources management division;
Ø  Contributes to the profession through publication or service, may represent the HSL;
Ø  Maintains both bibliographic and holdings records (SERHOLD and OCLC);
Ø  Serves as a member of the reference/information services team;
Ø  Performs other duties as assigned

Required:

 *   ALA-accredited Master's in Library Science (MLS);
 *   Minimum 2 years experience in an academic or health sciences library and in an integrated library system environment;
 *   Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated initiative;
 *   Excellent basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Excel);
 *   Commitment to service and ability to work effectively as part of a team;
 *   Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, team-based environment;
Desired:

 *   Knowledge of SERHOLD, OCLC, and Ex Libris Voyager system;
 *   Membership in the MLA Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP).
