Dear members,

The following message was sent by Mary Langman shortly. The message is informational and no action required.

Today, the House of Representatives approved a short term measure to fund the federal government through October 4, giving them time to consider a more comprehensive Continuing Resolution that will fund the government, including the NIH and NLM, through November 18.
What is interesting about this vote is the process by which it took place. According to CNN, most House members are away from
Washington this week, so the approval took place at a "pro-forma" session involving just three House members using a procedure known as "unanimous consent.  Voting on the measure were Representatives Andy Harris (R-MD), John Culberson (R-TX), and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). :)

The Senate approved this measure on Monday and the bill is on the way to the President's desk for signature.  More information can be found at:
