Have your post-Labor Day blues set in already? Fear not, there is something to look forward to this Fall!
The NAHSL/NY-NJ Joint Conference, Taming Information Chaos, is taking place October 30th - November 1st, 2011 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT. Early-bird registration ends in less than a month on October 1st. Because that date falls on the weekend, the early-bird fees will be good through Monday October 3rd - but that's the firm deadline for discounted registration. Additionally, the hotel is already more than 2/3 booked, so make your reservation now before all the rooms fill up!
Want to have some distinct learning goals for the meeting? Register for CE now and follow this plan: Esteemed staff Barb Jones and Marty Magee from the MidContintental Regional Medical Library will be teaching a CE class titled, "Behind Closed Doors: Politics in the Library" on Sunday. This class will focus on learning how to effectively influence and manage others' perceptions of you and your ideas, how to change enemies into allies, how to stay in the loop and how to manage outcomes short term, and far into the horizon. On Monday, listen to plenary speakers James Cimino and Lisa Sanders, then backup your politicking with a breakout session on innovative outreach. On Tuesday you'll hear from the third plenary speaker, Frank Corvino, before heading to the Lightning Presentations.
Register now at the link below, before the fees increase and the rooms fill up!
