Louise Darling Medal for Distinguished Achievement
in Collection Development in the Health Sciences
It may seem like you have a long time to nominate a colleague for one of
the MLA awards. Most likely, November 1st will arrive before you know
it. Consider acting now. Nominate a worthy MLA colleague for the
professional work they have accomplished in the area of Collection
Development. You are invited to take some time to recognize and reward
an appropriate colleague with a nomination for the Louise Darling Medal.
Nominees may be individuals, institutions, or groups of individuals.
Self-nominations are acceptable.

The Louise Darling Medal is presented annually by the Medical Library
Association in recognition of distinguished achievement in collection
development in the health sciences. The medal honors Louise Darling's
significant accomplishment in this professional specialty.
The Louise Darling Medal was established in 1987 by Ballen Booksellers
International, Inc., and is now sponsored in part by Ballen Booksellers
International, a Blackwell North America company. The recipient receives
an engraved medal and certificate at the association's annual meeting
and a $1,000 cash award after the annual meeting.
Nominations are due at MLA Headquarters by November 1, 2009.
Please don't delay, nominate today.
