WANTED:
PAIs (as opposed to CSIs)-That's Professional Achievement Investigators!
Know someone who's a member of the HLS and has been active in the areas
of publication, research, technological innovation or leadership?
Someone who's managed a special project or event on the job or in their
community? Someone who's rather new to the HLS (<5yrs) who's made a
difference by contributing to the profession within her/his
institution, local organization, chapter or the national association?
This is YOUR chance to sleuth out people to nominate for the HLS
Professional Recognition Awards for 2008!
Probe around, pursue the clues! Root out publications in newsletters,
the journal articles, research projects, grant proposals, user's aids
or poster sessions. Look for evidence of development of new uses for
software programs, networking breakthroughs, leading of campaigns,
holding o f office in any division of an organization or any other
unique or innovative activity. Search high and low for indication of
services performed such as contributing to the betterment of those
around, taking charge to solve a problem, or offering easier access to
quality information.
Colleagues who are found to have participated and excelled in hospital
library functions or leadership MUST BE EXPOSED AND RECOGNIZED! Let's
inscribe their names on either a Professional Recognition award, Catch
a Rising Star award or on the Scroll of Exemplary Service! We'll shine
a spotlight on them for advancing the profession!
For more information on this challenge and specifics to aid your
investigation go to the HLS website awards page at
http://hls.mlanet.org/Awards/index.html, where you'll also find the
three nomination forms needed to submit your findings.
Come on! Put on your detective hat! Make these people stand up for
their accomplishments and be accounted for! And, 'fess up! Report on
yourself if you're one of these culprits!
Professional Achievement Investigators are endorsed by the Professional
Recognition Committee. If you have any questions, contact one of these
representatives:
Karin Havens (Co-Chair)
Linda Spadaccini
Zoe Unno
Diane Wolf
Irene Wood (Co-Chair)
If you would like to submit a nomination, but feel that you will need
more time to put it together, please contact me.
I hope to hear from you! (Yes, you!)
